HOW SALISH WAVES MINI KINIS BEGAN
Born between island tides and Coast Salish waters, Salish Waves began with a vision to create swimwear that felt effortless, luxurious, and undeniably feminine.
What started in a three-bedroom home in Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, soon evolved into something far greater. After returning home to the Coast Salish Territories — stretching between British Columbia, Canada and Washington State, USA — Salish Waves transformed from a local conversation into a movement inspired by ocean culture, freedom, and confidence.
Women everywhere were searching for swimwear that truly fit — pieces that celebrated their natural shape, minimized tan lines, and felt as beautiful as they looked. Salish Waves recognized that the swim industry lacked versatility for real women and unique body types. That realization inspired the creation of the Mini Kini: sleek, minimal swimwear designed to contour beautifully, feel barely there, and move effortlessly with the body.
Every piece is thoughtfully designed to embody the essence of modern beach luxury — sun-soaked days, saltwater skin, surf sessions, and unforgettable memories by the ocean. Our bikinis are created for women who crave confidence, comfort, and freedom without sacrificing style.
Today, Salish Waves has become a statement swimwear brand rooted in coastal beauty and elevated craftsmanship. Each swimsuit is designed, developed, and curated in-house, allowing us to maintain exceptional quality, precision fit, and timeless design throughout every stage of production.

All of our swimwear is made in Coast Salish Territory and is made using sustainably made or eco-friendly fabrics and biodegradable packaging products as much as possible. Salish Waves mini kinis are all custom created and designed, so we can take pride in ourselves on being an eco-conscious, and made brand, by a local Coast Salish native artist. We make our swimwear in small batches to eliminate waste and to reduce our carbon footprint on this beautiful planet we call Earth. By wearing our premium line of swimsuits made in Coast Salish Territory we aspire to inspire other beach vibes to support ethnical fashion brands.
